Is Jesus Christ The Same As The Lord God In The Old Testament?

Here are two similar biblical accounts that show that Jesus Christ is not the same as the Lord God in the Old Testament.

During the earthly ministry of Jesus, a woman was caught in adultery and she was brought before him to know what he counsels to be done to her. We know from the scripture of truth that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. Therefore, his response in this situation is unarguably the response of God.

John 8 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
³ And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
⁴ They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
⁵ Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

While the people were ready to stone her to death, Jesus twisted the events and offered her pardon. He said to her – I do not condemn you to death for your sin.

John 8 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁷ So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

¹⁰ When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
¹¹ She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

In the book of Leviticus, we see a similar situation where someone sinned and Moses brought the person to the Lord God to know what he counsels should be done to him.

Leviticus 24 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹¹ And the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)
¹² And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.

In an unexpected turn of events when contrasted with the event of the woman who was brought before Jesus, the Lord God counseled that the man be condemned to death by stoning.

Leviticus 24 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹³ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
¹⁴ Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

Anyone who is factual cannot unsee this stark contrast between the response of Jesus Christ and that of the Lord God.

Someone may say, “Jesus responded differently in the event of the woman caught in adultery because it was the New Dispensation.”

This claim is not consistent with the truth of scripture. The New Dispensation only came into existence upon the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

So, Jesus gave that response to sin under the law. By this, he clearly shows that the Lord God of the Old Testament and himself have nothing in common – that was satan, the imposter God, and he is the true God.

Light is here!
