It Is Not My Thing

A senior pastor was out on evangelism on a Saturday with one of his members when along the way, he tapped the member on the shoulder and told her that evangelism is not his thing. And that he needed to go rest and prepare for Sunday service.

He proceeded to hand over the church flyers to her, asked her to continue the evangelism, and turned back to go home.

This was a real-life event that was narrated to me recently by the member.

The lady was surprised by his action. She couldn’t understand how her Pastor could turn back from evangelism on the ground that he was not used to going out for evangelism.

Sadly, this is the reality with some pastors. They exclude themselves from evangelism and expect the Lord to add souls to the church.

A pastor who is not given to evangelism is a bad example to the flock. A local assembly that is not given to evangelism is cold despite how much energy they exude in their worship services.

Pastors set the tone of spirituality in their local churches. Pastors inspire the culture of evangelism in their local churches.

Every Pastor must lead the way in world evangelization if they want the flock to commit to evangelism.

From the pulpit to the pew, everyone must get involved in evangelism.

The harvest is great, and laborers will no longer be few.
