While out on personal evangelism, I meet people who tell me that they are born again. I feel joyful meeting people who profess to be born again, but when I ask them what a person must do to be born again, they give me responses that are contrary to the teaching of scripture.
A common response I get is that one must repent from their sins to be born again.
Sadly, these people can go all their lives believing that they are born again, but, sadly, they are not born again.
It is a costly assumption to think that you are born again by a means that is contrary to the scripture of truth.
Those who are in this category may end up going to the lake of fire from the “church” if they do not hear the gospel preached to them and told what they must do to be born again according to the scriptures.
When I get contrary responses on what a person must do to be born again, I ensure I tell those concerned about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I further tell them that all they need to do to be saved is to believe that Jesus died for their sins and was raised to life on the third day.
John 3 (KJV)

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
¹⁵ That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2 (KJV)

⁸ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The harvest is great and laborers will no longer be few.
