“Why does Jesus still have the nail and spear prints on his body despite resurrecting from the dead with a glorified body?”
Here is the reason:
Upon Jesus’ resurrection from the dead with a glorified body, the nail and spear prints could have easily disappeared from his body, but God left them there for a prophetic reason.
Notice that he also sustained thorn prints on his head, but upon his resurrection from the dead, the thorn prints on his head disappeared.
The body of Jesus upon his resurrection signifies the Church.
The head of Jesus upon his resurrection signifies Christ.
The nail and spear prints on Jesus were a result of his sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
Jesus bearing the nail and spear prints eternally as he sits upon the throne signifies that those who will be a part of his body will still have imperfections in them from the sinful nature and that those imperfections will never count before God.
This is the reason God does not condemn the man in Christ for his sins.
“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.” Romans 4:8
The thorn prints on Jesus’ head needed to be removed because he is the perfection that the body aspires to in conduct.
There are no imperfections in the head, but there are imperfections in the body. And while we journey toward a perfect man in conduct, God will never count our imperfections against us.
