A close look at the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ would reveal the principle of asking for a miracle or healing to be received.
Most of the healing and miracle records of Jesus Christ were about people who asked him for divine intervention.
Here is an example in scripture.
“While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.”
— Matthew 9:18 (KJV)
Here is another example in scripture.
Luke 7 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
² And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
³ And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Some people expect Jesus to take the initiative to heal them without them asking – it does not work that way. You have to ask for a healing or a miracle.
This is because asking is a demonstration of faith and honor.
You can have a healer or miracle worker beside you and yet die in your affliction simply because you did not ask for divine intervention.
Some people would rather complain about their problems but never ask for divine intervention. God does not respond to your complaints; he responds to your requests.
Also, the minister who heals and commands miracles must not assume that you need healing. The healer must not offer to heal you out of pity because where faith is not demonstrated, miracles are impossible.
The exception to this principle of asking before a miracle is received would be on occasions when the Spirit of God commands the minister to intervene: and this rarely happens.
Ask, and it shall be given unto you.
